Claudia Gonzalez, CaptainThe Support Division of the Laredo Police Department is the largest civilian employee division within the Department. The captain oversees six sections/units under his command each providing crucial services to the Department and community of Laredo.

MIS

The MIS section serve as the IT for the department specializing in all programs needed to make our Mobile Data Terminals (MDT) in our patrol units functional. MIS also manage all body camera footage processing them for evidence collection and storage among other crucial duties.

Records

Our records section of the Department are where all Department reports are classified and stored. The civilian personnel also process all witness statements, accident reports, and citations for the Department.

Property

The Property Section of the Department are responsible for maintaining all evidence in criminal cases taken by our officers. Evidence is tagged and stored on a daily basis in an effort to keep up with the amount of reports filed by our officers.

Communications

The Emergency Communications Center is the first interaction people will have when calling our Department. Our communications techs are ready to answer every call whether for general information or emergencies and lend a listening ear when it matters most.

Community Relations Unit

Understanding that community relationships are necessary, CRU exists to bridge the gap between the community of Laredo and the Laredo Police Department. CRU actively engages the residents of Laredo through various community events such as Coffee with a Cop, McGruff School presentations and Blue Santa to name a few. Through education, intervention, and policing initiatives, CRU strives to make the community feel part of the solution when lower crime rates and ensuring overall community safety.

Front Desk / Lobby Officer

The front desk/lobby officer is the first face you will see when entering the Laredo Police Department. The officer guides those who enter the building to the right sections, answers whatever questions they may have, and will file reports for victims that choose to walk-in.
