Zacate Creek Litter Mitigation Project – Photo Opportunity
LAREDO, TX – The City of Laredo and District 8 Council Member Alyssa Cigarroa, will host a photo opportunity for the launch of the "Zacate Creek Litter Mitigation" project, a collaborative recycling and litter reduction initiative with the City of Laredo Environmental Services Department and Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. The project involves the installation of litter collection berms by contractor Osprey Initiative at two sites in Zacate Creek: Zacate and Jovita Idar Park, and Zacate and Dr. Ike’s Ball Park.
These litter collection berms, selected based on site accessibility and effectiveness, will help capture litter runoff in streams to improve the environmental quality of Zacate Creek. The Laredo City Council approved the project on June 24, 2024.
Media representatives will be able to capture images of the litter berm installations, joined by representatives from Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, Osprey Initiative, and City of Laredo officials.
