The City of Laredo and the Parks and Recreation Department will host for the very first time a full marathon. Today, the City announced the details during a press conference of the first Laredo Marathon. Currently, the City of Laredo is in the process of getting the race certified by the United States Track & Field (USATF) and as a Boston Marathon Qualifier. The Laredo Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 5, 2023, where runners will start the 26.2 mile race at Uni-Trade Stadium through a picturesque route all over the city and ending at the parking lot of the Outlet Shoppes at Laredo.  

Participants:

The first 300 participants to register early for the marathon will receive an event shirt and a gift bag. Early registration is happening now and runners, starting at age 16, can register at https://cityoflaredomarathon.itsyourrace.com. The overall male and female winners will receive a $2,500 prize. There will be medals for the top three runners in each division. Participants will also receive a finisher’s medal upon completion of the event.
